LOCATIONS

Welcome to Super Chavez Market, a hidden gem located at 1480 Guerneville Rd in Santa Rosa, California. This vibrant establishment seamlessly blends the essence of a traditional Mexican market with the flavors of authentic Mexican cuisine. Whether you're looking to grab a quick meal, stock up on fresh ingredients, or indulge in mouthwatering tacos, Super Chavez Market has something to satisfy every craving.

Upon entering, you’ll notice the inviting aroma of fresh produce and handmade tortillas. Customers rave about the market's selection, especially the tortillas that are often described as "very fresh" and superior to commercial brands. In fact, the marketplace carries popular La Rosa tortillas, making it a fantastic stop for taco enthusiasts.

  • Fresh Produce: The produce is not only fresh but also meticulously selected, ensuring quality in every bite.
  • Meat Counter: The meat counter stands out, offering stunning cuts and a variety that delights meat lovers. The staff is attentive and more than happy to assist.
  • Taqueria Delights: The taco offerings here are noteworthy, particularly the carnitas tacos served on freshly made corn tortillas. One customer described it as one of the best tacos they've ever had!
  • Accessibility: With options for takeout, reservations, and delivery, along with on-site parking, Super Chavez Market makes it easy for groups and families to enjoy their meals together.

The taqueria within is a crucial part of the experience, showcasing the heart of Super Chavez Market. While some dishes are exceptional, like the aforementioned carnitas, others might not hit the mark. For example, the barbacoa has received mixed reviews, and it seems the red salsa doesn't quite rise to the occasion. It's recommended to explore the green salsa for a better zing!

Despite these minor critiques, the overall summation is clear: Super Chavez Market is a testament to authentic Mexican flavors, complemented by a warm and friendly atmosphere (with some exceptions!). The staff is welcoming, aiming to make each visit enjoyable, except perhaps for the occasionally focused taqueria employee. For families, groups, or even a casual solo visit, this market is equipped with amenities like TV and Wi-Fi, enhancing the dining experience.

In conclusion, Super Chavez Market is more than just a market; it's a community destination where Mexican culinary traditions come alive. I encourage everyone in the Santa Rosa area to drop by, indulge in some fabulous tacos, and enjoy the colors and flavors that this charming establishment has to offer.

I am sitting here with my Mom eating tacos carnitas and a carne asada plate. This is the third time I've been to this delicious, authentic Mexican restaurant. As a foodie Chicana, I love this food. It reminds me of Saturdays when mi abuelo would bring me Mexican food from the local taqueria.

The new girl working there is super nice They have super fresh ripe produce at great prices and awesome trinkets and clay pots COME HERE FOR AVOCADOS and candy hehe Also the gentleman working here are all always so kind and helpful and eager to jump over to ring anyone out when they see you heading towards the registers Brand name items in the store can be pricy and a little marked up and I've gotten cheese here a few times and it was molding when I opened the seal, I think the fridges might be a little out of date and one of the butchers in a white Honda harassed me when I was walking on the trail behind the store and whistled at me also the owner or manager I'm not sure, he was super rude and harsh to employees doing a great job in front of customers like yelled rudely at them. Even if they're family that's not cool to do any work. Everyone should feel safe and respected So not five stars but this is my favorite place

Not a huge market, but has some great stuff. The produce is fresh and there are tortillas in plain unmarked bags that appear to be very fresh and far better than commercial brands. They carry La Rosa tortillas, too, which are pretty good. The meat counter is excellent and the guys are VERy nice and helpful. The meat is beautiful with a lovely variety, cut really nicely. You can get chicharrones and carnitas by the pound that look amazingly crispy and delicious. They have some key staples in the frozen section but I do wish they had more non=Goya products, because, you know, Goya is evil. As for the taqueria, so for so good. I had one of the best carnitas tacos of my life with fresh hand made corn tortillas. Yowza! But I also had a barbacoa (beef and tongue), that was a little fatty and bland. I would stick with the carnitas. The red salsa is kind of awful, btw. I hear the green is better. I really want to try the quesadillas - also made with home made tortillas. Everyone is super nice. Well except for the lady at the taqueria, who was just very - focused, if not friendly. Good find.
